NOTICE TO RESIDENTS In order to defray the increased cost and expense of operating and disposing of garbage, rubbish and trash in the City, the City Council voted to amend the existing rate schedule for collections, handling and disposal of garbage rubbish and trash.  Effective October 1, 2017 the residential rate will be $22.50 for the first cart and 12.25 for any additional carts.  The commercial rate will be $33.00 for one cart and $16.50 for each additional cart. Residents who are 65 or older and have the water service currently in their name may be exempt from this increase.    An application (see link below) will need to be  completed and  either  mailed to P.O. Box 517, Satsuma, AL  36572 or returned in person to City Hall.  Applications can also be picked up at City Hall.  Once verification has been made, the water board will be notified and the account will be adjusted.  If you have any questions, please contact City Hall at (251) 675-1440. 
.Parents that have lost a loved one have started a group that will start meeting the 2nd and 4th Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.  This meeting will be at the Community Center.  Contact person Linda Green at 251 679-9147. 
NOTICE TO RESIDENTS FEMA Has made changes to the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) for Mobile County.  Maps can be reviewed at If you are concerned whether your property is in a flood zone, please refer to the above website. 
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE The Satsuma City Council will hold a public hearing on February 6, 2018 at 6:45 p.m. to hear public comments regarding a proposed amendment to the Satsuma Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map.  The proposed changes include amending the zoning to correct zoning discrepancies on several properties either on or abutting Old Highway 43, Juniper Avenue and Magnolia Avenue. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. The proposed zoning maps of the proposed changes are currently on display at City Hall and can be viewed during regular business hours or you may contact Tom Briand at (251) 377-9633 for more information.
